Tajo Colorado

A large vertical limestone wall, with orange tones which gives it its name, which extends from “el Visillo” to the vicinity of the Cortijo de la Haza del Olivo. It is a slope for the riverbed of more than 180 meters, in which it accumulates a large number of loose erosions.

Location

We find it to the South, in front of the village. It extends in the Southwest-Northeast direction, parallel to the left bank of the Lanjarón River.

The cut alone presents a remarkable landscape interest, in addition to fostering with its presence a true microclimate under its “visor”, where both fauna and floristic species appear associated with the riparian ecosystems. Cane plantations, reeds, etc
